For accounting firms
The firm workspace is a command center where a bookkeeping practice manages every client business from one screen, on one shared plan.
The firm workspace is a command center for accounting and bookkeeping practices that run Inbox Ledger for more than one client. Instead of logging into a separate account per client, you manage your whole portfolio from one screen, pay with one annual plan drawn from a shared credit pool, and open any client's dashboard with a single click.
Who it's for
The firm workspace is built for a practice that processes invoices and receipts on behalf of several businesses. A solo bookkeeper with two clients and a ten-person firm with eighty clients both use the same screen. If you run Inbox Ledger for a single business of your own, you do not need a firm. The ordinary dashboard is enough.
How a firm differs from an organization
An organization is one business's workspace. It holds that business's inbox connections, documents, invoices, and its own team with the four organization roles (viewer, member, admin, owner). See Team and roles for that model.
A firm sits one level above organizations. Each client you manage is an ordinary organization, linked to your firm. The firm holds the annual subscription and the shared credit pool, and it has its own staff with firm roles (partner, manager, staff) that are separate from the per-organization roles. Your staff get access to a client's data because the firm provisions an ordinary membership for them inside that client's organization, so everything the core product does inside an organization keeps working unchanged.
One email address is one persona. An account is either a business owner or an accountant, chosen once at sign-up and fixed after that. An accountant account has no personal business organization: its home is the firm workspace.
What's in the workspace
The firm workspace opens on a tabbed screen at /firm.
- Overview shows portfolio totals: firm pool balance, documents processed this month, clients managed, and estimated hours saved.
- Clients lists every client business with its status, billing mode, and last activity, and opens a slide-over per client.
- Money Found rolls up recovered and at-risk amounts across the whole portfolio.
- Team manages your firm staff, their roles, and which clients each can see.
- Plans and Top up manage the firm subscription and credit bundles.
- Firm profile sets the firm name, brand color, and logo.
