Chrome extension issues
Fix sign-in and token problems, failed captures after a portal changed, and invoices skipped as duplicates.
Chrome extension issues
The Inbox Ledger Chrome extension captured nothing, or an invoice you expected never reached Documents. Work through the causes below in order, most common first.
Not signed in or the token expired
Symptom. The extension popup shows a signed-out or disconnected state, and nothing uploads when you open a billing portal.
Cause. Your session ended, or the link between the extension and your organization expired. Until the extension is signed in and linked, it cannot send invoices.
Fix. Click the Inbox Ledger icon in Chrome, sign in with the same account you use for the dashboard, and re-link the extension to your organization. A connected status in the popup means the link is active again.
Confirm. Open a supported portal's invoices page and check that the invoice appears in Documents.
A portal page changed and capture failed
Symptom. The extension is signed in, but it does not capture an invoice on a portal that worked before.
Cause. The portal changed the layout of its billing page, so the extension no longer finds the invoice where it expects.
Fix. Use the extension's report action to flag the portal page that changed. The report tells the Inbox Ledger team which portal broke so the extension can be updated.
Confirm. After the extension updates, re-open the portal's invoices page and check Documents.
A document was skipped as a duplicate
Symptom. You captured an invoice, but no new entry appears in Documents, and the extension reports it was skipped.
Cause. The extension checks for duplicates before uploading. If the same invoice was already captured, by the extension, an email source, or an OAuth portal, it is skipped so you do not get two copies.
Fix. No action needed. Open Documents and search for the vendor or invoice number to find the copy that already exists.
Still not capturing after you re-link and report? Re-install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, following Install the Chrome extension.
